Why we built our own cutting machine
Off-the-shelf cutters can't keep up with new phone models. So we shipped our own — 200+ templates, quiet enough for storefronts.
Three years ago we hit a wall: a flagship phone would launch and our distributors would wait six to eight weeks for a third-party cutter manufacturer to release a template. That's six to eight weeks of lost sales.
So we built our own. The Kara Glass Cutting Machine ships with 200+ device templates pre-loaded and a model-of-the-week update channel; new flagship templates land within 14 days of launch. The unit runs at 35 dB — quieter than an office printer — so it fits behind a retail counter without disrupting customers.
For a typical accessories shop cutting 50+ protectors a day, the machine pays for itself in under three months. We include the initial template pack, an installation training video in five languages, and a 12-month parts warranty.
