What makes a phone cover survive the retail floor
Drop tests, UV tests, and shrink-wrap cycles — the three things we measure before a cover ever ships in retail-ready packaging.
A cover that looks great in the catalog can still fail on the shelf. Three years of distributor feedback taught us to test for three things before any SKU enters production:
Drop test
Each design is dropped from 1.5 m onto polished concrete 20 times across three orientations (face, edge, corner). A pass is zero visible deformation and no crack propagation through the bezel.
UV resistance
Sample covers spend 200 hours in a UV chamber that simulates a year of indoor retail lighting. We measure colour shift in ΔE units; the brand standard is ΔE < 2.
Packaging cycle
The retail-ready shrink wrap and barcoded backer card must survive 6 months of warehouse stacking with no warping, yellowing, or tear at the hang-hole. We accelerate this with humidity + temperature cycling over 30 days.
Anything that misses any of those marks goes back to the design table.
